Our visit to Hyogo Prefectural Flower Center yesterday was simply stunning 🤩
It has the largest collections of carnivorous plants in Japan and we were privileged to be able to view the behind scenes areas not generally open to the public.
The collections are managed by Hirofumi Doi and he was on hand to guide us through these remarkable plants.
It was a special afternoon and the rain didn’t slow us down at all. In fact, it may have been a blessing as there wasn’t many other visitors to the center!
Thanks to the organisers for arranging this for us, a really unforgettable carnivorous plant day 👏🏻
I’m going to point out that I am a nut for Sarracenia and so they make up 99.9% of this post 🤓
Such a great way to spend a day… 👌🏻
It was a privilege to be able to see this area, usually closed to the public!

So many Sarracenia!!
Even more Sarracenia...

Simply stunning Sarracenia everywhere.
A total privilege and a great way to spend a day!
